Tulku Dakpa Rinpoche
Tulku Dakpa Rinpoche (a.k.a. Tulku Thubten Tsondu) was born in Shellong on 25th November 1975 to Ven.
Lama Thubten Kalsang and Yongdu Wangmo. This was a nomad family who had little concern for material things. His father, Tubten Kalsang, is a great practitioner. He was recognized by His Holiness Trichen Jurme Kunzang Wangyal Rinpoche and H.H. Dalaï Lama as the 3rd reincarnation of Gegong Rokza Sonam Palge (Rong Tsal Pal Gé) Rinpoche. Gegong Rokza Sonam Palge was the head of the Gé Kong Monastery in Dzachuka, Khams, Eastern Tibet. He was one of Dza Patrul Rinpoché’s root teachers, to whom he transmitted tsa lung teachings (on channels and air). As a recognized reincarnation of a Dzogchen master, Tulku Dakpa Rinpoche
has received a thorough education from the most demanding and proficient teachers of our times.

He became a monk in Dzogchen Monastery when he was eight and commenced his monastic studies.  He could already read and write and had great ability to learn. While he was still very young he entered the University of Dzogchen, South India, where a Géshé was teaching. He again proved to be exceptionally gifted.

In 1992, he joined the Orgyen Mindrolling Monastery in Dehra-dun, India and was ordained a Getshul by H.H. Mindrolling Khenchen Rinpoche, his root teacher. He then entered Ngagyur Nyingma College, the university of Mindrolling Monastery, and during his nine years there he meticulously studied and contemplated the 13 Great Canonical Scriptures of the Nyingmapa School along with their ancillary texts and commentaries. He received teachings from many of the greatest teachers of our time including H.H. Dalai Lama, H.H. Penor Rinpoche, Kyabje Taglung Tsetrul Rinpoche, Kyabje Trulshik Rinpoche, Kyabje Dzogchen Pema Kalsang Rinpoche, Kyabje Khenchen Thubten Rinpoche, Kyabje Khenchen Petse Rinpoche, Kyabje Mindrolling Khenchen Rinpoche. Among the teachings, initiations, and oral instructions, there were those of the Kahma (Oral Lineage) and Terma (Spiritual Treasures), the Nyinthig Tsapo, the Dzodun (The Seven Treasures of Kunchen Longchen Rabjampa), the Ghuyagarbhatantra, and the Dam Ngnak Dzod. He is both a sutra and tantra graduate. He now teaches Buddhist philosophy, logic and holy texts.
